Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British battleship Nelson as she was in 1944, in 1:200. It is a large and demanding set: it contains more than twelve hundred parts on eighteen sprues, eight photo-etched frets with railings, ladders, steps and radar parts, and also decals and two shipboard aircraft. The finished model measures more than a hundred and eight centimeters, so it is necessary to think in advance about where it will stand.
Nelson was one of a pair of British battleships built in the interwar period under the limits of an international treaty on armaments. Those very limits gave the ship her unmistakable look: all three main gun turrets stand ahead of the superstructure, so the stern stayed empty and the whole bow looks ponderous. The arrangement made it possible to concentrate the armor in a shorter section of the hull. The ship served throughout the Second World War, among other places in the Mediterranean and at the Normandy landings.
Glue the hull and fill the joint carefully, because on a curved surface every unevenness shows. Fit the photo-etched railings right at the end. Eight frets mean a lot of work, so divide them up by structural units and do not do everything at once. Paint the deck and the superstructures separately. Period British schemes worked with disruptive fields of various grays and browns, which you will manage best with masking.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
