A large injection-molded plastic kit of the British battleship HMS Rodney in 1:200 scale from Trumpeter. The model has a one-piece hull from side molds, a single-piece deck, finely shaped main armament turrets and superstructures, and it is supplemented with photo-etched parts (railings, ladders, radar elements) and a display base. Take the exact contents from the enclosed instructions.
HMS Rodney was a British battleship of the Nelson class from the interwar period, characterized by three main armament turrets grouped ahead of the superstructure. She became famous above all in 1941, when together with other vessels she took part in sinking the German battleship Bismarck, firing into her at point-blank range. She served throughout the Second World War as a heavily armed unit.
The large one-piece hull allows a full-hull model to be built on the supplied display base. It is advisable to paint and clean up the deck before the superstructures are fitted; bond the fine photo-etched parts (railings and ladders) with super glue only at the end. Join the hull and the superstructures with liquid cement for plastic. For a faithful look the naval gray camouflage schemes of the period work well, along with discreet washes in the recesses, emphasis on the rivets and light weathering at the waterline.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
