Bronco 1:200 KA-28 Helix Anti-Submarine Helicopter is a plastic kit of the Russian shipborne anti-submarine helicopter with a pair of coaxial rotors.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the shipborne anti-submarine helicopter in the small 1:200 scale from Bronco. Although the model is small, it is well detailed for its size. The package contains plastic parts, clear glazing parts and decals for several operators. The model also works well as an accessory to ship models of a similar scale.
The Ka-28 is the export version of the well-known anti-submarine helicopter from the Kamov design bureau. Its two contra-rotating coaxial rotors are characteristic; they need no tail rotor and save space on ships' decks. The machine is built to operate from limited deck areas and carries equipment for finding and destroying submarines. Among its operators were the PLA Navy and the Russian Navy.
Because of the small dimensions, work with a sharp knife and fine tweezers, and separate the clear parts carefully, as they tend to be fragile. Glue the plastic with precisely dosed cement so that none runs onto the glazing. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats and pick out the fine panel lines with a thin wash. It is best to add the rotors only after the fuselage has been painted.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
