This large-format plastic kit in 1:18 scale from Hobby Boss captures the legendary American Bell UH-1 Iroquois utility helicopter, nicknamed the Huey, in the B and C versions. The large scale makes for an imposing model with rich detail and hundreds of parts. Decals for two marking options are included, with different armament.
The UH-1 became one of the best-known helicopters in military history. It entered service at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s and made its name above all in the Vietnam War, where it flew everything from troop and casualty transport to fire support. The B and C versions brought a more powerful engine and better combat qualities. More than sixteen thousand were built in all.
The large scale leaves room to paint the cockpit and the interior carefully before the fuselage is closed up. Use thin plastic cement, and glue the large clear parts with an adhesive that leaves no fogging. For a convincing look, an airbrush, panel line accenting and light weathering to match the aircraft's service all help.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
