Jaguar is one of the most distinctive British car makers. The firm came into being in the 1920s originally as a maker of sidecars for motorcycles and worked its way up to cars only gradually; it has carried its present name since the postwar years. In sport it became famous for victories at Le Mans with the C and D types, and on the road above all with the E-type with its long hood and inline six-cylinder engine, which is still named among the most beautiful cars in history. Comfortable sedans belong to the brand as well, and from the 1960s the XJ line. A hundred years of development therefore covers a sporting as well as a luxury tradition.
Car models stand or fall with the finish on the body. First sand the body perfectly, apply a primer and spray the shade in thin coats; a deep gloss is gained only with a clear coat and fine polishing. Leave the chrome-plated parts for a later stage and mask the surfaces under them. Finish the interior and the chassis before you fit the body. Lay the decals on a gloss surface and use a decal softener, so that they settle into the recesses. Protect the glazing with masking and do not touch it with your fingers.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Unless stated otherwise, expect that glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package.
