The Plymouth Duster of the 1970 model year as a Monogram plastic kit in 1:24 scale. An American compact coupe from the muscle car era.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the American compact coupe Plymouth Duster of the 1970 model year in 1:24 scale from the American brand Monogram. The number 70 in the name is a shortened way of writing the 1970 model year, not a statement about the scale.
The Duster appeared for the 1970 model year as a more sportingly drawn coupe derived from the compact Plymouth Valiant. Compared with the sedan it received a fastback rear and a lower roofline, but kept its simple and light structure. It was exactly that which made it a popular choice: the basic versions were cheap and economical, while the stronger form with a V8 offered decent performance for a fraction of the price of the big muscle coupes. The Duster is therefore one of the typical representatives of American production of the early 1970s and is a rewarding subject for modelers too.
First prepare the interior and the chassis, because once the body is in place they will no longer be accessible. Sand the body, rid it of the mold seams and spray on a filler primer; only then apply the paint and the gloss clear coat, and do so in thin layers. Once the clear coat has cured you can polish the surface. Apply the decals over a gloss base and seal them with a final coat. Glue chrome and clear parts with a cement that does not fog the surface, ideally a liquid cement for plastic applied with the tip of a brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
