A set of small parts imitating quick-release fasteners in the recessed version, that is the kind that lie in a shallow recess in the panel and do not stand out above its surface. The set is in 1:24 scale and according to the name it contains two groups of parts of fourteen pieces each, that is the fasteners and the matching counterparts that go with them. The parts are printed on a three-dimensional printer.
A fastener that stands out above the hood creates air resistance and can easily be caught in contact. The recessed version solves that problem: it lies in a recess and the surface of the panel stays smooth. On a model the difference is clearly visible and it determines what kind of car this is, so it pays to choose according to a photograph of the real subject, not according to what happens to be at hand.
Cut the parts off with a new blade on a hard surface and work over a box. Remove the print supports after printing and level the surface. With the recessed version it pays to drill a shallow recess into the panel first, so that the part does not sit on the surface. Painting is easier before cutting off: a metallic shade and a darker wash to bring out the shape. They are glued with super glue dispensed with a pin.
