Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary turbocharged Group 5 (Gruppe 5) BMW 320i E21 Turbo in 1:24 scale from Beemax. According to the manufacturer the package contains plastic parts, rubber tires, waterslide decals and painting masks, together with instructions for building and painting. The model captures the Schnitzer team car with the sponsor Kraus Hi-Fi and race number 55, in which Hans-Joachim Stuck won the Westfalen-Pokal at the Zolder circuit in the 1980 DRM season.
The Group 5 BMW 320 was one of the so-called silhouette cars, which competed in Division II up to 2 liters in the German touring car championship DRM (Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft). Under the lightened, aerodynamically widened body sat a turbocharged four-cylinder tuned by the Schnitzer team, which thanks to the turbocharger reached extraordinary power from a small displacement. The win at the Belgian Zolder circuit in 1980 is among the notable results of this car.
On racing cars it pays to start with the engine bay and the interior with the roll cage before you close the body up. Use the enclosed masks for sharp color transitions and the lines of the livery. Spray the body with an airbrush, polish it once dry for the typical shine of racing paintwork and add the sponsor decals; a final coat of clear paint will strengthen them and even out the surface. Fit the rubber tires only at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
