An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern long-haul tractor unit DAF XF-105 in 1:24 scale from the Italian maker Italeri. The model represents the tractor unit without a trailer, with its roomy sleeper cab, a detailed interior, chassis and engine. The box holds plastic and rubber parts, decals and instructions. It is a more demanding kit. Check the exact package contents against the instruction sheet; paints and glue are not included in the package.
The DAF XF-105 was the flagship of the Dutch brand DAF in the heavy long-haul tractor segment. It offered a roomy cab with a high level of comfort for long international routes and a potent diesel six, which let it handle heavy rigs without trouble. The vehicle won praise for its economy and for the driver's working environment and became a popular tractor with European hauliers.
Spray the large cab with an airbrush over a thin primer and polish out the gloss coat; pick out the chrome parts, the bumper, the mirrors, the exhaust and the fuel tanks, with a suitable metallic paint. Detail the interior and the chassis before final assembly, and mask the glazing. Use liquid cement for plastic on the plastic joints and glue the small parts with deliberation. Apply the decals over a gloss base and seal them with a clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
