F6F-5 Hellcat: fabric belts 1:24 (HGW, Basic Line)

An add-on detail set, not a kit. The Basic Line range from HGW holds the pilot's seat belts made of fine microtextile complemented by photo-etched metal buckles. The belts are laser-cut, so they separate easily and can be arranged into a realistic form. The set is intended for a model of the Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat carrier fighter in the large 1:24 scale. It is based on the dimensions of the Airfix kit.

Use

  • Fold the belts gently and adapt them to the shape of the seat: the fabric holds its shape and drapes faithfully.
  • Fit the photo-etched buckles and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
  • The belts can be toned and weathered for an even more realistic look.
