An injection-molded plastic kit of the D8500 Mod. 1938 agricultural tractor in the attractive 1:24 scale from the maker MiniArt. The kit is richly broken down and offers several assembly options; decals are in the box as well. Thanks to the large scale the breakdown of the engine, the wheels and the working mechanism comes out well, so the model is rewarding both as an exhibit on its own and as a striking element of a diorama.
The D8500 is one of the German agricultural tractors of the end of the 1930s, for which a robust simple engine and massive wheels were typical. Machines of this type were used in farming and at the time of the Second World War for auxiliary and rear-area tasks as well. Their characteristic silhouette makes them a rewarding subject for civilian and military scenes alike.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and clean the sprue nubs with a file. Use a liquid modeling cement on the plastic. Apply a base coat (a primer) before painting, spray with an airbrush in thin coats and pick out the broken-up mechanism and the engine with a dark wash and a dry brush. Scuffed places and dust are completed with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
