This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale from MiniArt captures the German wheeled tractor of the D8506 type in the 1937 version. The set contains richly structured plastic parts, clear parts, a photo-etched fret for fine detail and a decal sheet. The larger scale lets the engine, the wheels and the small accessories show to advantage.
The tractors of the D8500 and D8506 series were among the sturdy single-cylinder machines with a hot-bulb head that were used in Germany in the 1930s and 1940s. Besides work in the fields they also served to tow loads and to supply units, so with their tall wheels and massive engine they make a rewarding subject for dioramas from the interwar and the wartime era.
Cut the parts from the sprue gates with a sharp knife and dry-fit them first. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic and attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Apply a base coat before painting, spray with an airbrush and bring the surface to life with washes and pigments for deposits of dust and mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
