Injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Italian Iveco TurboStar 190.48 semi-trailer tractor in the large 1:24 scale from Italeri. The set includes the tractor and a refrigerated (reefer) semi-trailer with an insulated box, rubber tires and waterslide decals. The large scale offers plenty of room for a detailed cab and chassis.
In the second half of the 1980s the Iveco TurboStar was one of the most successful European long-haul tractor units and became one of the best-liked commercial vehicles in Italy. The 190.48 version boasted a powerful turbocharged engine and was sought after for demanding long-distance haulage. The refrigerated semi-trailer served to carry goods that need controlled temperature.
Start with the chassis and the frame of the tractor, then the cab and finally the semi-trailer. Glue with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints of the body carefully. It is recommended to spray the painted cab with an airbrush over primer and to cover it with a gloss coat for a clean shine. Leave the chrome parts (bumpers, grilles, exhausts, mirrors) without aggressive sanding so that they keep their shine; lay the decals on a gloss base and seal them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
