1:24 LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR 50° ANNIVERSARIO

The real subject

The Lamborghini Aventador in the anniversary rendering, which the brand presented to mark fifty years of its existence. It differs from the ordinary production car in the treatment of the front and rear sections of the body and in the handling of the vents, so it is precisely in those places that a model is seen from close up and the small parts decide a great deal on it.

What the set contains

Photo-etched parts for building a model in 1:24 scale. Photo-etching gives thin metal elements whose thickness a plastic part cannot imitate, which is why sets of this type are used where a part is meant to look genuinely thin: grilles, frames, trim strips, loops, clips and similar small items. The individual elements are held in the sheet on thin tabs and are separated from it only at the moment when their turn comes.

Building and painting tips

Separate the part with a sharp blade on a hard surface, then level the rest of the tab off with a fine file or abrasive paper. Make the bends along the scored line, ideally in a bender or between two straight jaws, so that the edge stays sharp and straight. The metal parts are bonded with super glue or soldered; a cement for plastic does not hold on them. Before painting, wash and degrease the elements and use a base color intended for metal, otherwise the layer is easily rubbed off during handling.

Who it is for

The set is intended for modelers who are building an automobile model in 1:24 scale and want to push the level of detail beyond what a kit holds. Working with photo-etch calls for tweezers, a sharp blade and a calm hand, so it suits a more advanced build rather.

• photo-etched parts in 1:24 scale
• thin elements where a plastic part would come across as coarse
• bonded with super glue, a cement for plastic does not hold
• wash, degrease and prime before painting
• suitable for a more advanced build

The kit, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
