An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous competition Lancia 037 in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. The model captures the car in its 1985 form, specifically the winner of the Italian Rallye Limone Piemonte. The package holds photo-etched parts, rubber tires and decals for the period livery.
The Lancia 037 was a Group B competition car — one of the last successful rear-wheel-drive machines in an era when its rivals were moving to four-wheel drive. It was powered by a mid-mounted four-cylinder engine fed by a supercharger, which gave immediate response without the lag typical of turbos. It was with this car that Lancia took the world manufacturers' title in 1983, and the 037 thus went down as the last rear-wheel-drive car ever to win it. To this day it is among the most admired icons of the golden era of rallying.
Spray the body with an airbrush and prepare the individual color fields of the period livery with careful masking. Bond the photo-etched parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and bend them on a hard mat before fitting. Apply the decals onto a gloss varnish and then coat them over for a uniform surface. Finish and paint the interior with its roll cage and the mid-mounted engine before the body is closed up; add light weathering to the engine bay.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
