The model captures the European heavy tractor of the German MAN brand with its spacious cab and a range of aerodynamic features. The set offers a completely worked-out engine and chassis, a detailed cab, rubber parts, decals and assembly instructions. Paired with a 1:24 semi-trailer, the finished tractor makes an impressive long-haul rig.
The Formel Six designation refers to the six-cylinder diesel engine fitted to the MAN 26.321. The version with a reinforced chassis allowed a second rear axle to be mounted, which turned the truck into a powerful three-axle tractor for heavy long-distance haulage. The real vehicle was completed by large air horns, aerodynamic features and the characteristic spoiler on the cab roof, which reduced drag and fuel consumption.
The cab looks best with a gloss finish laid on with an airbrush and a polished clear coat, which the decals sit on well. Pick out the chrome fittings, the grille, the air horns and the roof spoiler separately. The engine and the chassis frame on this model are richly detailed and clearly visible, so careful assembly and color separation of the parts pay off. Fit the rubber tires at the end. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and use a primer before painting.
