Studio27 1:24 McLaren F1-GTR (short tail) carbon decal

A set of waterslide (wet) decals with a printed carbon fiber pattern from Studio27 in 1:24 scale, intended for a model of the McLaren F1 GTR sports car in the short tail version. The decals do away with the laborious painting of carbon surfaces and faithfully imitate the structure of the weave on the body and interior parts.

Use

  • Cut the piece of decal out and immerse it in lukewarm water for a few seconds.
  • Once the film releases, slide the decal onto a smooth, glossy, degreased surface.
  • Squeeze the remaining water out with a soft cloth; a decal softener helps over shapes.
  • Once dry, overcoat with clear varnish for an even finish and protection.

  • Builders of models of GT racing cars of the 1990s.
  • Modelers who want realistic carbon without painting a fine structure.

The decals are supplied on their own; the model, paints and varnish are not included in the package. The best effect comes on a smooth glossy ground.
