Italeri 1:24 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC Rallye Bandama 1979 is a plastic kit of the legendary rally coupe that mastered the demanding African event on the Ivory Coast.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale captures the competition version of the elegant Mercedes-Benz 450SLC coupe in the configuration for the famous Rallye Bandama on the Ivory Coast in 1979. The parts are molded in color, and the set contains chrome plated components, rubber tires and a decal set for two different race numbers and crews. The model has a detailed engine and an opening hood.
The Mercedes-Benz 450SLC was a luxury coupe built from the beginning of the 1970s. Under the hood worked a V8 of roughly 4.5 liters with an output of around 225 horsepower. The lightened competition version with a roll cage and racing wheels was one of the feared rivals of the long-distance rallies at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s, and on the long African route it proved exceptionally durable.
Use a thin cement for plastic on the joints, which runs into the mating surfaces by capillary action. We recommend spraying the body with an airbrush over a filler primer, and a gloss coat under the decals evens out the surface and sinks the sponsor markings in. Glue the chrome plated parts with cyanoacrylate glue so that the surface finish is not damaged.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
