A photo-etched detail set of the instrument panel of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G fighter in 1:24 scale from Airscale. This is not an airplane kit but a cockpit accessory replacing the simplified instrument panel from the plastic kit. The set combines multi-layer photo-etched metal, waterslide decals of the dial faces and clear film simulating the instrument glasses.
The product is intended for the Trumpeter kit. That is bought separately.
The Bf 109G, nicknamed the Gustav, was the most widespread version of the German Messerschmitt fighter, with the more powerful inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine. It served on every front in the second half of the war and was built in large numbers. This set captures the cockpit with its German instrument arrangement of the period faithfully.
Separate the photo-etched parts and fit them together according to the instructions, bonding them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and tweezers. Apply the dial decals onto the etched windows and, once dry, go over them with a drop of gloss clear coat for the effect of glass. Paint the base of the panel with the typical German cockpit color (RLM 66) before applying the decals.
This is a detail accessory, not an airplane model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
