An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary German Porsche 959 supercar in 1:24 scale from Tamiya. The model offers a detailed engine, a well worked out chassis with its suspension, a richly fitted interior, spoked wheels and a rear wing. The engine cover can be opened once the build is finished, revealing the powerplant of the car; the parts are molded in silver plastic and complemented by clear ones.
The Porsche 959 is a German supercar introduced in the mid-nineteen eighties as the technological flagship model of the brand. It was powered by a turbocharged flat-six boxer engine with all-wheel drive, which at the time of its launch made it one of the fastest and technically most advanced production cars in the world. Characteristic is the aerodynamic body derived from the 911, with an integrated rear wing and smooth flanks.
Clean the body up first and remove the mold seams, so that the smooth gloss finish shows after painting. Lay down a primer, then the color and finally a clear coat for a deep shine. Protect the chrome and plated parts, the window frames and the details among them, by masking. Bring out the interior and the engine with different shades and a restrained wash, so that the individual parts stand out. Paint the rims and tires separately and fit them last of all.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
