A set of pre-cut masks in 1:24 scale from the Decalcas brand for the window frames of a Sauber Mercedes C9 model. It is neither a kit nor decals — they are templates that cover the clear parts and set the edge of the spray. The manufacturer intends them for the kits from Hasegawa.
The Sauber Mercedes C9 was a Group C prototype with a turbocharged eight-cylinder V engine mounted behind the driver. The car came out of the cooperation between the Swiss Sauber stable and Mercedes and is among the best known machines of the category: in 1989 it brought Le Mans a one-two victory and took the title in the world sports prototype championship. The cockpit glazing on a prototype is enormous and the window frames therefore form a very prominent line.
Peel the mask off its backing sheet, set it dry and press the edge down with a blunt tool, so that the paint cannot run under it. On large curved surfaces work from the center toward the edges and do not stretch the material. Spray in thin coats and lift the mask slowly, while the paint is not yet fully cured.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
