1:24 Southeastern US License Plates 1910-1940 with Metal Base (for All Kits)

Quinta Studio 1:24: US license plates of the southeastern states 1910-1940 with a metal base

This set from the Quinta Studio brand contains colored decal license plates of the American southeastern states from the period 1910-1940 in 1:24 scale, supplemented with a metal base. It is not a model but a detail accessory: the plates are transferred as decals and the metal base gives them a realistic stiffness and the faithful look of a real sheet-metal plate.

About its use

Period license plates are a rewarding detail on models of historic cars. The set covers the region of the southeastern states of the USA and the era of 1910-1940, so a version matching a particular subject and year can be chosen. The universal designation (for All Kits) means that the set can be used across car models in that scale.

Usage tips

• Seat the decal on the metal base, and work with water and, if need be, a decal softener.
• The edges of the metal base can be trued up and blackened for a more faithful impression.
• Once it has dried the whole thing can be gone over with matte or semi-gloss varnish, according to the state of the subject.

Who it is for

• Builders of historic US cars in 1:24 scale.
• Anyone interested in faithful period license plates from the years 1910-1940.
• Modelers who want an extra detail without hand painting the plates.

This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
