This injection-molded plastic kit from the American manufacturer AMT represents a light Ford truck of the mid-1950s in the attractive Coca-Cola company livery. It is a classic 3-in-1 kit — a stock, a custom and a service version can all be built. Authentic decals with Coca-Cola logos and graphics and generously chrome-plated parts are included.
In 1953 the Ford F-100 brought a rounder and more modern cab than the previous generation and became an icon of American utility vehicles. Pickups of this type commonly appeared in the colors of companies and drinks brands as advertising and delivery vehicles, which makes them a rewarding subject for collectors and modelers.
We recommend spraying the body with gloss varnish and coating it over for the effect of painted sheet metal; treat the chrome parts carefully so that the shine is preserved. Apply the Coca-Cola decals to a glossy base, so that the edges of the carrier film do not show. Use thin modeling cement for the plastic and degrease the parts before painting.
