What the walkways are for

Access walkways are marked non-slip paths on the upper surface of the wing, which protected the skin from wear during servicing and while the crew boarded. On a model they are brought out in a flatter and darker shade; a mask delimits its edge precisely.

Use and tips

• Degrease the surface and lay the longer strip down in a single line along the wing root.
• Press the edges down carefully so that paint does not seep underneath.
• Spray in thin coats; choose a flatter shade for the non-slip look.
