Omask 1:32 Luftwaffe walkways 5 x 75 mm (mask set)

This is not a kit but a set of self-adhesive masking templates cut from Oramask film. The masks serve for spraying the access walkways cleanly on the wings of Luftwaffe aircraft in 1:32 scale. The package contains strips of roughly 5 x 75 mm, with which you can precisely delimit the non-slip areas on which the personnel moved on the real aircraft.

What the walkways are for

Access walkways are marked non-slip paths on the upper surface of the wing at its root, which protected the skin from damage while boarding and during maintenance. On a model they are usually brought out in a darker, flatter shade. It is precisely the clean delimiting of that shade that a mask makes markedly easier.

Use and tips

• Degrease the surface before applying the mask and position it by the leading edge and the wing root.
• Press the edges down so that paint does not seep underneath, and spray in thin coats.
• A flatter shade and a fine texture suit the non-slip look.
• The film is intended for single use.
