Replacement F100-PW-220 engine exhaust nozzles in the open position, 1:32 scale, for the Tamiya F-15 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-15 Eagle is a twin-engine fighter with a large wing area and a pair of vertical tail surfaces. Alongside the A, B, C and D fighter versions it gave rise to the two-seat Strike Eagle for attacks on ground targets and to the Japanese F-15J. Early machines of these versions flew with F100-PW-220 engines, whose exhaust nozzles are made up of moving petals and change their cross section according to the engine setting. On the ground they can therefore be found in two distinctly different positions, and that is exactly why they are offered as two separate sets.
A pair of exhaust nozzles in the open position in 1:32 scale, ready to be fitted in place of the parts from the Tamiya kit. The set is intended for the F-15A, B, C, D, early E and J versions with F100-PW-220 engines. Anyone who wants the nozzles in the closed position will find them as a separate item in the same line.
The parts are not made of polystyrene; they are glued with super glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down, and try the mating surface dry before gluing. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease them, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. The nozzles are painted in metallic shades with graduated heat discoloration toward the trailing edge, and the final highlighting of the edges is done with a dry brush. The manufacturer's instructions give the actual fitting procedure.
For builders of large F-15 models who want the rear of the aircraft to let you see inside the nozzles.
The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
