The exhaust nozzle of the F-35B Lightning II in the straight position, 1:32 scale from the brand Reskit corresponds to ordinary flight and to a machine parked on an apron alike.
Responsibility details are not available.
The straight position is the one in which the F-35B spends most of a flight and the whole time on an apron. Reskit offers it as a separate part, because the shape of the petals and the way they overlap look different in the neutral setting than in the state when the mechanism is turned toward the ground.
In level flight the B version works like any other fighter: the stream of gases points to the rear, the doors above the fan are closed and the machine differs in nothing conspicuous from the land-based form. A parked aircraft has the same appearance. This configuration suits the vast majority of builds, including those with stores under the wings or with the cockpit canopy open.
The saturation of the heat discoloration is the key thing on the petals: a gaudy rainbow looks unnatural, whereas a fine transition from gray through warm shades to a darkened rim looks believable. It pays to paint the inner side before the part drops into the tail, because afterwards you will not get into the depth. The edges of the petals tend in service to be polished to a lighter metal, which can be suggested with a stroke of a silver pencil along the edge.
The package settles the end part of the propulsion unit and nothing more.
