A pair of GBU-10 Paveway I laser-guided bombs with the slow-speed wing kit in 1:32 scale. A printed set from Reskit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The first generation of laser-guided bombs came about by fitting a seeker head and lifting surfaces to a two-ton body. This rendition combines the tail unit and the wing group intended for slower carriers, with which there was no need to allow for high speeds. The package offers two pieces printed for the large scale, where even the small bolting on the clamps stands out.
The first generation differs from the later ones in having fixed, spread surfaces and a simpler autopilot, which could only latch onto the reflected beam. Even so it was a fundamental turning point: targets on which dozens of bombs used to fall were enough to attack once. The fit appeared on types such as the F-4D and F-4E, the F-111, the A-6A or the A-7E. The seeker head reacted to reflected light, which was held on the target either by another aircraft or by a ground controller.
The thin surfaces of the seeker head are fragile after printing, so handle them with tweezers and not with your fingers. The spread of the surfaces at the front and at the rear has to be rotated relative to each other according to the real subject; try the position dry before you reach for the glue. An olive tone with a white band matches the typical rendition. Seat the lettering around the seeker only on a gloss surface.
The subject of the delivery is two bombs. Everything else for the build you provide yourself.
