Quickboost 1:32 Gloster Meteor F.8 / FR.9 wheel fenders is a resin accessory for the landing gear of a model of the British jet fighter. It replaces a plastic part; it is not an aircraft kit.

Resin fenders for the landing gear wheels of a model of the Gloster Meteor in the F.8 and FR.9 versions in 1:32 scale. Quickboost, a brand of the Czech firm Aires, concentrates on simple replacement parts installed by a plain swap for the plastic piece, so even a builder with no experience of complicated sets will manage this accessory. It only calls for the rules of working with resin to be respected.
A fender is by its nature thin sheet bent into an arc. In an injection mold such a shape always comes out thicker than it should be, and seen from the side of the landing gear that catches the eye, because in 1:32 scale a model is looked at from close up and the landing gear tends to be one of the first places a viewer looks. A resin casting carries a markedly thinner wall and a crisper edge.
The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet fighter brought into operational service and in the postwar years it saw a whole range of versions. The F.8 was the main day fighter variant with a lengthened fuselage, a modified tail and an ejection seat, and the FR.9 built on it as a reconnaissance variant with a modified nose for photographic equipment. Both types served with the Royal Air Force and with foreign operators.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water and cut the casting block off with a saw. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. A dry test matters here: the fender has to follow the outline of the wheel with an even gap, otherwise the difference shows. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally once the landing gear leg is already fitted and aligned. Paint it separately and put it on at the very end, so that it does not break off while the model is handled. To finish it, fine dust and light shades applied dry on the edges work well, because the fender is exactly where dirt collects most.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, as resin castings for modifying a model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
