A premium resin multimedia kit for experienced modelers of the Grumman F7F-3P Tigercat in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer HPH Models. It is a demanding, richly detailed resin kit completed by photo-etched parts, decals and other multimedia parts. The F7F-3P version represents the photo-reconnaissance variant of the Tigercat. The Grumman F7F Tigercat was an American twin-engine carrier fighter of the end of the Second World War. Thanks to its pair of powerful radial engines it was among the fastest and most heavily armed piston fighters of its day. The F7F-3P version was modified for photo-reconnaissance: in place of part of the armament it carried cameras for reconnaissance tasks. The Tigercats were used mainly in the postwar period and in the Korean War.
With resin parts, first wash the mold release residue off the surface so that paint and glue will hold. Cut the casting blocks off carefully and sand the surfaces; sand wet and with respiratory protection, because resin dust is harmful to health. Glue the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate), ideally with an activator, and reinforce any more massive assemblies. Apply a primer before painting and spray the camouflage with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin multimedia kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
