1:32 Luftwaffe Balkenkreuze Late NO. 1

Luftwaffe Balkenkreuze Late NO. 1 – masks 1:32 (77propeller)

A set of self-adhesive masking templates from 77propeller for spraying the late version of the German national crosses (Balkenkreuze) in 1:32 scale. These are not decals but an aid for the airbrush – the crosses are sprayed directly in paint, so sharp edges are formed with none of the glossy film of a decal. The set is generic and suits a range of German aircraft of the Second World War in this scale.

What the accessory is for

The late type of Balkenkreuz had narrower outline bars than the earlier solid crosses, and the templates mark that shape out faithfully. In the large 1:32 scale the crosses are prominent, and sprayed markings with no sheen and no decal edges look particularly realistic. The designation NO. 1 distinguishes a particular set of sizes and variants within the range.

Use

• Let the surface cure perfectly before the masks are put on
• Reduce the tack of the mask before use so that it does not damage the paint
• Press the mask down carefully all the way round
• Take the mask off immediately after spraying and clean the area

Who it is for

For modelers of German aircraft in the large 1:32 scale who want to spray the national crosses instead of using decals. It calls for experience with masking and an airbrush.

The set does not contain the model, paints or glue. It serves as an aid for spraying an existing model.
