A detail set of the Lewis aircraft machine gun, pattern C, in 1:32 scale from Plusmodel. The parts are made by 3D printing and the package holds two machine guns and four drum magazines: two for 47 rounds and two for 97 rounds. The Lewis was the typical defensive weapon of airplanes of the First World War and of the interwar era.
The machine gun brings an observer's station, an open cockpit or a weapons display to life. The set offers sharp detail on the cooling jacket, the barrel and the drum magazine, which tend to be simplified on the parts from the box.
Wash the parts clean of print resin residue and cut the fine parts away with care, because the barrel and the jacket are fragile. Dark steel and graphite shades bring the metal to life; the wooden stock takes on a warm brown tone with a glaze.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is not an airplane model. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
