A resin ejection seat in 1:32 for the early versions of the MiG-21 (the KM-1 type) from Aires. A detailed replacement for the simplified seat from the kit, it combines cast resin with fine parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is NOT an airplane model but a resin detail set: a single faithfully worked-out ejection seat of the KM-1 type for the early versions of the MiG-21 fighter in 1:32 scale. It replaces the simplified seat supplied in the plastic kit and lifts the realism of the cockpit markedly. It usually comes with fine parts added (the harness and the levers, for instance); check the package contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The KM-1 was a Soviet ejection seat used in the early variants of the MiG-21 and in further MiG fighters. It allowed the aircraft to be abandoned in an emergency across a wide range of speeds and was marked out by the shape of its backrest and by its harness system. A faithfully rendered seat belongs among the details that catch the eye at once in an open cockpit.
Separate the seat from the casting block, wash the mold release agent off it and glue it with super glue. Spray the base in a suitable shade and bring out the harness and the padding with shades and with drybrushing; light up the depths with a dark wash. Sand resin with your airways protected.
The set contains resin accessory parts. The kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
