A resin set of landing gear doors for the model of the Soviet MiG-21MF fighter in 1:32 scale. It replaces the parts from the kit with a thinner casting with the correct profile and legible internal stiffening ribs. On the real aircraft the landing gear doors are of thin sheet metal, and a plastic part is usually markedly thicker because of the way it is made, which shows on a model when viewed from below. It is not an aircraft model, it is an accessory.
The MiG-21MF was one of the most widespread versions of the Soviet fighter, which became the most numerously produced supersonic aircraft in history. It had a delta wing, a circular air intake with a movable center cone and a powerful engine that made it excel in climb and in speed. Besides the Soviet Air Force it was operated by dozens of countries including Czechoslovakia, and many of them kept it in service for decades.
Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surface with sandpaper, with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue. Apply a primer before painting. Paint the inner side of the doors in the shade of the landing gear bays, not in camouflage; the difference is immediately visible when viewed from below.
