Curtiss P-40B – resin interior set 1:32 for a faithful rendition of the cockpit of the American fighter from the beginning of World War II.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an airplane model, but a resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer CMK. It contains a faithfully cast cockpit interior with an instrument panel, cockpit sidewalls, a seat and the controls. The set is intended for completing an injection-molded model of the Curtiss P-40B fighter in 1:32 scale.
The Curtiss P-40 was one of the basic American fighters of the beginning of World War II. The early P-40B version (the Tomahawk in British service) was deployed among others by units in the Pacific and by the famous Flying Tigers group in China. A characteristic feature is the V engine with a radiator under the nose; the glazed cockpit reveals the detail of the interior.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The interior is painted before the fuselage is closed and picked out with a wash and drybrushing, so that the engraving and the instruments stand out.
The set contains only resin accessory parts; the model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
