1:32 S-24 missiles with APU-68 (4 pcs) is a resin set of large-caliber S-24 unguided rockets together with the APU-68 launcher. It is an accessory for underwing ordnance, not an aircraft kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The resin set brings the large-caliber S-24 unguided rockets to 1:32 scale, including the single-round APU-68 launcher on which the rocket is hung under the aircraft. The designation describes a four-piece package. The set replaces the simplified plastic parts from the box: resin holds thinner fins and sharper leading edges, which have to be thickened on injection-molded plastic for production reasons.
The S-24 is a heavy unguided aircraft rocket of Soviet design introduced in the 1960s. It is carried one at a time on the APU-68 launcher and was used for strikes on ground targets from tactical aircraft and attack helicopters of Eastern origin. Its typical features are the large diameter of the body and the massive stabilizing fins at the rear, which stabilize the rocket by spinning it after launch. It is precisely the size that makes this rocket a prominent part of an ordnance load, and in 1:32 scale it is clearly visible on the model.
Before building, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent so that the mold release agent disappears, otherwise neither paint nor glue will hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a sharp knife and level the surface with a file. Make the joints with cyanoacrylate; plastic cement does not work here. It pays to sand wet and with respiratory protection, resin dust should not be inhaled. Then comes primer, the base shade and finally the panels and warheads brought out with a darker wash.
The set is an accessory, not a kit of the whole aircraft. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the basic model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
