The Airscale TBD Devastator cockpit detail set (1:32) is a rich photo-etched set in nickel silver with color decals for a faithful cockpit interior.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the British firm Airscale, part of its Pro range, is an extensive upgrade accessory for detailing the cockpit of a large 1:32 model of the Douglas TBD Devastator carrier torpedo bomber. It is not a model of the aircraft but a set that replaces and supplements the interior parts of a kit. It contains photo-etched instrument panels in nickel silver, seats, side consoles, bulkheads and small cockpit parts, complemented by separately printed color decals of the instruments and placards.
The Douglas TBD Devastator was an American carrier torpedo bomber of the US Navy. When it was introduced it was a modern all-metal monoplane, but by the beginning of the war in the Pacific it was already obsolete. Its best-known and tragic action came in the Battle of Midway.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife, bend them with a bending tool and bond them with super glue. Apply the color instrument decals onto a smooth surface prepared with varnish. Working under a magnifier and using an airbrush are recommended.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
