The real subject

A light truck with a load capacity of 1.5 tons with four-wheel drive and a closed van body. Vehicles of this layout delivered goods, spare parts and small material where the load had to be protected from rain and dust. The 4x4 drive allowed them to leave the hard road for a field track, where a vehicle with only the rear axle driven would have got stuck. The closed body gives the model a pronounced outline that is not lost in a diorama even beside armored hardware.

Building and painting

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It pays to build it in sub-assemblies: the chassis with the drivetrain separately, the cab separately and the van body separately. Paint the inside of the cab before you close it up, because once glued you will no longer get at it. Fit the wheels at the end, as the hubs and the tires are then easier to paint separately. Before finishing, wash and degrease the whole model, so that the paint holds on the parts. Sand any excess material and traces of manufacture down with fine sandpaper before the sub-assemblies are glued together.
