An injection-molded plastic kit of the German First World War A7V tank in the version built by the Krupp company, in 1:35 scale from Meng. The limited edition holds, in addition, a finely rendered engine and photo-etched parts to raise the level of detail. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The A7V was the first tank put into series service by the German army, developed as an answer to the British tanks used in the fighting on the Western Front. It was a massive, tall colossus with an armored box carrying a numerous crew and heavy gun and machine gun armament. Because of its great weight and limited ability to cross country, only a few were built, yet the A7V became an icon of the beginnings of tank warfare.
Finish and paint the interior and the engine before closing the hull, because they are hard to reach afterward. The workable track links make realistic sag easier. Earthy washes and pigments imitating mud and dust suit period weathering. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
