The orange rectangular plates with a black frame are carried by vehicles hauling dangerous goods by road. They go on the front and the rear, and on tankers also along the sides of the tank, and they are visible from a distance. The upper number marks the kind of hazard, the lower four-digit number the particular substance carried. A plain orange plate with no numbers is used where the figures are not given. On a model it is a small thing, yet it tells at once that this is a tanker or a truck in service and not an empty chassis on a stand.
A sheet of plates in 1:35 scale in the version the manufacturer designates as Type 2. How many plates the sheet holds and in what combinations of numbers is given in the enclosed instructions. The 1:35 scale matches the usual kits of military and civilian vehicles, so the set suits tankers, tractor units and vehicles in a diorama.
Cut the elements out close to the print so that no glossy film edge is left around them. The surface they go onto must be smooth, dry and free of grease; a rough matte coat will show through the thin film as a haze. Before you apply them, check the instructions to see whether these are water-slide decals or a self-adhesive version, because the two go on differently. Let the settled motif dry undisturbed, and only then seal it with clear coat if you wish and dust it with pigment so that the plate does not look factory fresh.
