A printed accessory set for the AH-1G Cobra attack helicopter: the gearbox housing above the cockpit together with its covering doors, intended for the kit from the ICM company.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bell AH-1G Cobra is the first series-built attack helicopter. It has a narrow fuselage in which the gunner sits at the front and the pilot raised behind him, and short stub wings with pylons for armament. Above the cockpit it carries the power train with the main rotor gearbox, which is covered by removable doors; during maintenance on the ground they tend to be open and can be seen into.
The set deals with exactly this space: it brings the gearbox housing and its covering doors. It is prepared for the AH-1G kit from the ICM company, so the shapes follow on to its parts. The extent of the set and the fitting procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions. The printed parts come as single shapes with no split halves that would have to be glued together.
Cut the parts off the print supports with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the marks left by them with fine abrasive paper. Before painting, wash the surface in lukewarm water with detergent so that no residue of print resin is left on it, otherwise the paint will not hold. The parts are not polystyrene, so glue them with cyanoacrylate; try the fit into the kit dry first. Paint the inside of the space before you fit the doors.
For a modeler who wants a Cobra with the power train exposed and does not want to cut the shapes out himself. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
