Assorted Garbage Bins (variant no. 2) in 1:35 scale is a mixed set of garbage bins and waste containers from the Vallejo diorama range. A scenic prop for urban scenes, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A mixed set of waste containers in 1:35 scale. It is an accessory for diorama builders, not a model or a vehicle kit. How many pieces and of what types the package contains is stated on the packaging.
An urban scene often gets stuck looking like an architectural model: clean facades, empty sidewalks and no sign of life anywhere. Waste containers put that right in a moment. Standing by the wall of a house, in a passage or next to a back entrance, they give the viewer a clear signal that somebody lives in the building and that rubbish is carried out from somewhere. At the same time they are rewarding objects for storytelling: an overturned bin, its contents scattered and wheel tracks say more about what is happening in the scene than another figure would.
Garbage bins are one of the few objects on which weathering can hardly be overdone. Choose the base shade according to the setting; galvanized sheet, dark green and saturated plastic are all common. A wash into the ribs and under the rim of the lid follows, then stains and streaks of dirt running vertically down the body. Around the bottom, dust and the remains of damp are useful, and wear on the edges. You can make the contents of a bin yourself from small scraps of paper, kitchen foil and offcuts of sprue. Inside it does not have to be accurate, as nobody will see into the shadow under the rim anyway; all that matters is the impression of fullness.
The set is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and terrain are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
