This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from MiniArt captures the American M3 medium tank in British service, that is the Lee form with the American-type turret. The set stands out for its fine surface modeling, clear parts, photo-etched parts and workable tracks, and British equipment and fittings are included as well.
The M3 supplied to the British as aid served above all in North Africa. The British distinguished two forms: the Lee, with a taller rotating turret of the American type carrying a small machine gun cupola, and the Grant, with a lower cast turret of British design. Both types shared the hull with the side-mounted 75 mm gun and served as a counterweight to German and Italian tanks.
Assemble the running gear and the suspension before you close up the hull. Glue the workable tracks in sections and let them cure. Use thin cement on the plastic and spray the model with an airbrush over a base coat. The desert finish stands out after edge highlighting, washes in the hollows and dust pigments on the running gear; the British fittings add to the credibility.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
