Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet BTR-70 armored personnel carrier in 1:35 scale from Zvezda. The set captures the characteristic low hull of the eight-wheeled vehicle with its small turret and makes it possible to build a representative model of this widespread Cold War carrier.
The BTR-70 is a Soviet eight-wheeled (8x8) armored personnel carrier taken into service in the 1970s as the successor to the BTR-60. It was powered by a pair of gasoline engines, it was amphibious and in the water it moved by water jet. In the turret it carried a heavy machine gun of 14.5 mm caliber supplemented by a machine gun of 7.62 mm caliber. Compared with its predecessor it offered better mounting for the soldiers through side doors between the axles. It served in a number of armies and saw combat all over the world.
Assemble and check the running gear first, and glue the wheels and the rubber tires on only after the base color has been sprayed. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic, prime the whole thing and paint with an airbrush. The base green shade will be brought to life by a dark wash into the recesses and the rivets, by picking out the edges with a dry brush and by dust or mud effects with pigments on the wheels and the lower hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
