An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Bussing-NAG 500A truck in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker IBG Models. The model shows the vehicle with a cargo bed fitted with drop sides and a canvas tilt frame, that is, a canvas-type stake body; the package contains detailed plastic parts, clear parts, decals and illustrated instructions. It is a rewarding subject for anybody who likes German supply vehicles.
The Bussing-NAG 500A was a German truck produced at the turn of the 1930s and 1940s. The 500A variant with all-wheel drive appeared at the end of the 1930s and was powered by a six-cylinder diesel engine; the vehicle offered good going across country and a decent payload. The Wehrmacht used it to carry materiel and men on various battlefields of the Second World War.
Build in subassemblies: start with the chassis, the engine and the running gear, and only then move on to the cab and the bed. Use a thin cement for plastic and glue the fine parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush; dark gray as well as dark yellow with camouflage are typical. Bring out the planks of the bed with a wash and weather the lower parts with dust and mud pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
