A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese medium tank Type 59 in its early production form from MiniArt. The set contains photo-etched parts, transparent parts and decals for several marking options. All the hatches can be positioned open or closed. It is a fairly extensive kit with a large number of parts, better suited to more experienced modelers.
The Type 59 was a Chinese medium tank based on the Soviet T-54A, whose licensed production China started at the end of the 1950s. It carried a 100 mm gun and for decades became the backbone of the Chinese armored forces as well as a widely exported tank in a number of countries. The early production version matches the oldest form of the vehicle, without the later upgrade items.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the lower hull while they are still easy to reach. The positionable hatches allow the vehicle to be opened up for a view inside. For the patina use dark washes in the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the running gear and the sides.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
