An injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese ZTQ-15 light tank in the version with add-on cage armor, in 1:35 scale from Meng. The box captures the modern version with additional protection and also attends to small details such as the finely rendered lightened road wheels, flexible tarpaulin parts and clear elements for the optics.
The ZTQ-15 is a modern Chinese light tank weighing roughly 33 to 36 tons, developed for use in mountainous and broken terrain where heavy tanks would not do. The main armament is a 105 mm gun, and the tank is used for infantry support and reconnaissance. Add-on and cage armor increases protection against shaped-charge ammunition and is a typical mark of the newer combat configurations.
Finish the running gear and the lower part of the hull first, and only then close the upper parts. The fine screens and the cage need careful cutting and gluing; use thin modeling cement on the plastic. Spray the digital camouflage with an airbrush in coats, bring out the panel lines with a wash and finally add dust and mud pigments for faithful weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
