The Dornier Do 335, nicknamed Pfeil, is among the most unusual aircraft of the Second World War. It had two piston engines in tandem, one at the front with a tractor propeller and the second behind the cockpit with a pusher propeller aft of the tail, so it reached the performance of a twin-engined machine without the drag of engine nacelles on the wing and without the trouble of asymmetric thrust. It also received cruciform tail surfaces including a lower fin, a nose landing gear and, for emergency escape, an ejection seat, because jumping past the pusher propeller would otherwise not have been possible. It was one of the fastest piston aircraft of its day, but only a few were built before the end of the war.

Cut surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder off; on thin areas sand in two passes rather than one and keep trying the fit. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, because otherwise paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Strip the paint from the mating surfaces on the model down to a smooth base and try the joint dry first; larger parts are helped by being supported while they set, so that they do not slide.
