A set of explosive reactive armor blocks in 1:35 scale, the second range in the series. It completes a model of an armored vehicle with the add-on protection fitted to the turret and hull.

Explosive reactive armor is add-on protection for armored vehicles that does not rely on the thickness of steel alone. It is made up of blocks with a layer of explosive inserted between metal plates. When a shaped-charge round strikes, the layer detonates, the plates fly out against the penetrating jet and disrupt it before it gnaws through the main armor. The blocks are fitted to the vehicle from the outside in dense rows, most often on the turret front, on the sides and on the forward part of the hull, and they change its silhouette considerably. That is exactly why they are a rewarding subject for modelers: a vehicle wearing them looks different from the factory version.
The set brings add-on armor blocks in 1:35 scale as an accessory to a plastic kit. It is the second range of the whole series, so the shapes of the blocks follow on from the first set and can be combined with it. The layout on the model follows the subject of the particular vehicle.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary modeling cement for plastic has no effect on them. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down carefully so that the edges are not damaged. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and lay a primer on them, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. The particular procedure for preparing the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions. On the vehicle it pays to seat the blocks one at a time and keep checking that the rows stay parallel.
