The AMX-30 is a French main battle tank of the postwar generation, in which the designers bet on mobility and firepower rather than on thick armor. The silhouette is therefore low and slim, with a markedly sloped front part of the hull and a turret with a long gun. The B2 designation belongs to the updated version, which kept the vehicle in frontline service even at a time when the original form was beginning to fall behind. On the model the differences show mainly in the details on the turret and in the instrument fit, so it pays to stick to the particular version when choosing the finish and the markings as well.
The kit is in 1:35 scale, that is, in the most widespread scale for ground equipment. The assembled tank comes out at roughly twenty centimeters of hull length, so it is big enough for careful emphasis of the detail and still fits into an ordinary display case. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, separate the parts with sprue cutters and sand the remnants of the gates before you glue them. The chassis and the road wheels are easier to paint before the lower part is assembled, because afterwards they are hard to reach.
A single-color olive finish is an option as well as the later camouflage schemes; the particular schemes and markings are in the instructions.
Paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The contents of the package are given on the manufacturer's box.
